Well......trying to get things configured - with my current setup, I have 256 RAM with SPD and SPD sets ram up at CAS3. When I manually change it to CAS2, it screws everything up - changes my FSB to like 143 blah blah blah - system won't even boot. Couldn't find a cmos reset jumper, so I just turned off the a7v133 and let it sit, turned it back on and went into the bios. Returned everything to normal for the Tbird 1Ghz266 chip and everything worked.

If I buy a 512 CAS2 stick - is it going to run at CAS2 or CAS3. I am missing something about the CAS setting that I thought I understood. The BIOS seems to try and overclock my FSB when I set CAS2. What up with dat?

Yeah, it'll run at CAS2, but hopefully you're not planning on running a win9x kernel with 512MB of money, as it really doesn't deal with paging that much memory very well.

On your other concern you should just be able to set your fsb back down to 133 and get it to run...assuming that your memory can handle that. You can reset your CMOS by removing the Lithium Ion battery that's on the motherboard.

I think that covers it all. If not, I'll just add some more rambling. :)
