last night i wasnt realy paying any atention to what i was doing and i have disabled the RPC service instead of seting it to manual.
i was hopeing to improve boot times a bit.

The RPC service has had knock on efects that have stoped me from viewing the properties of a service and thus from enabeling it.

ive been tring to use this comand in cmd window but to little avail

NET START "REMOTE PROCEDURE CALL"

sorry for any spelling mistakes but the clip books gone awol as well

if some one can tell me how to registry hack around this or how to format the comand properly id be quite gratefull

thanks

Never mind I sorted out the problem (w00t)

the line to edit is:
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RpcSs"

And change start to a (hex) value of two (was 4 for disabled 2 must be auto.)

Then a restart and the problems go away. (Because the service starts and all the others that need it can then go.
