Voodoo 4 4500 and a HUGE HSF!

I just got back from radio shack, I gots me a big "pentium CPU cooling fan" for "75mhz to 200MHZ" pretty good size, for what im putting it on. I have a voodoo 4 4500 and it gets HOT!!! So, I decided to take off the stock hsf and put this thing on here. Now that its done, other than the drying part, how long should this thing take to dry? Oh yea, its also the heatsink compound from radio shack. And, when I took that ghetto hsf off of the voodoo, the GLUE! they used was turning brown.

hate to break it to you but the heatsink compound from radio shack won tstick it to the chip(but you probly know that) you need some superglue and put it on the edges...

I already got some white goop from radio shack and I just went and got some compound and its gonna do tha same thing as the tube of other shxt I got!!?!?

and its just sitting on there
theres nothing to hold it on

the white goop doesn't set, it stays goopy, it's designed to transfer heat not to hold stuff in place, you will need some thermal epoxy like the artic silver stuff for that. Or you could put the white goop in the centre of the core and some super glue in the 4 corners of the chip to hold the sink in place.

no no no, I dont think you understand what im using here... I HAVE white goop, Ive had it for a while, I know it doesnt stick, today I got some hetsink compound, it has polysiloxane and zinc oxide in it. The part number is 276-1372. the guy said it would make it "stick"
