780MB CDRs seen as 703MB CDRs

Hey guys. I have 3 780MB CDs, and my CDRW (Ricoh MP7240A) sees them as 703MB discs, I tried to burn one, and now its unreadable.
I was wondering if there's a way I could use these CDRs?
