download this:

http://cexx.org/LSPFix.exe

remove all instances of winlspak.dll and calsp.dll

for your hijackthis log, remove these entries:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [winupdtl] C:\WINDOWS\system32\winupdtl.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SESync] "C:\Program Files\SED\SED.exe"

SED.exe is related to EZULA spyware. Should be able to find this in Add/remove programs.

reboot, rescan, and post the text of the log here please.

remove these:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [winupdtl] C:\WINDOWS\system32\winupdtl.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [fBs4RSN3g] vxbproxy.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [us3Q32h] vmhpdate.exe

After that, it should be fine.

what hinted you as to having a spyware infestation?

I like spybot S&D, it's easy to use, effective and most of all, free! The very first time I used it was on a friend of mine's PC and it came up with a list that took me about half an hour to go through and click all the damn little boxes.

You make it sound like you haven't already ran AdAware, but are using hijackthis first to try to fix this? It's always easier to let adaware, spybot, spysweeper do their thing, then run hijackthis and cwshredder if you still have problems. I'm not sure if that's what you've done or not, but here's a link to the stickies on spyware removal, be sure you haven't missed anything!
