Hey Guys,

Just wondering if anyone knows of a Solid State Relay that could be used for a water pump. I already use a mechanical relay, but solid state is safer, uses less power to switch, and lasts much longer.

I know Radio Shack sells 12 volt solid state relays, but I'm not sure if they'd be able to handle the current that a pump would draw.

I got my relay from rat shack. its a Siemens K10P-11D15-12 it can handle:
10A @ 277VAC
1/2HP@250VAC
15A @ 120VAC
1/3HP@120VAC
15A@30VDC
I don't think any pumps draw more than 15A
