My internet connection lags. I am in an apt with a very fast ethernet connection.

There are my results:

Your connection is: 637 Kbps (about 0.6 Mbps)
You downloaded at: 78 KB/s
Your TRuSPEED™: ^info^ 713 Kbps :: 87 KB/s (12% overhead factored)
Bottom Line: You are running: 11 times faster than 56K and can download 1 megabyte in 13.13 second(s)

What can I do to improve..Browsing is so slow...and outlook is so slow..

My connection was rocket fast when I reinstalled XP, but now it is slowed down alot...I dont have any uncessary programs running and such....

That looks about right for a DSL. If youre are on cable remember you are sharing overall bandwith with anyone in you apt building. If someone or several people are all using the band at once your connection will be slower and laggy. I suggest getting a bandwidth monitor and watch what is going in and out of your PC. DUMeter is a good choice for this.

When you install it, view the little window it shows you while downloading from a good fast site. You should see good steady flat-topped peaks. The receive speed should also be consistant when doing a send test. This will also allow you to monitor for any unauthorized activity over your bandwidth as well.
