View Full Version : Cooler recommendations pleeze.
I am building my first pc and plan on using a AMD 1.33ghz processor. I would like recommendations on a heatsink/fan combo for this unit and where to buy. I don't plan on overclocking, but who knows? I just may decide to if things work out, so I need one that will handle it if decide to.

Get the Glaciator, it cools very well and is not as loud as the other hs at this performance level
Just an idea

well as your not planning to overclock, i'd go with glaciator, its supposed to be nice and quiet, but cools well too, the SK6 and swifty are kinda loud though, but there isnt really a need to use a big delta fan on it....
hehe trancbear that rhymed! :p

I'd say stick with the vantec cck-6035d if you can handle the noise from the delta, same with the sk-6. Then again, you can always get a different fan for the sk-6. As for the glaciator, a little too heavy in my opinion (710 grams...ouch).
go to bgmicro.com and get 2 comair rotrons,
235 cfm each, nothing cools better.
only 8.95 US $ each

terrible because it works fine on mine although i have a few fans less than you do. (60mm delta, 5x80 extreme output sunons) there is one other trick that was stated somewhere in the forum and that's to play baseball with it:D

that was my post when my pc was overheating, now I have a CAK38 and will never go back to that orb...
I have done the seven volt mod to my delta and its silent and cools like a dream 45C full load...(roughly) :)

thats why i got the cak38 its good at cooling and the delta screams..
I had didn't like the noise so i 7v modded it and it cools well when I am folding now the top temp is 45C!!
Thanks for all your suggestions.
I love these forums!
I decided on the Glaciator. I ordered it last week and just got it yesterday. Looks great, but we'll have to see how it performs.
