Hi all. I've searched and read through a lot of the posts in this section, but ultimately still have the same question.

Which power supply should I get, knowing that I want 2 SATA connectors as well?

I've read through everyone's recommendations as far as quality, rail stability, and such, and I know that a lot of people here recommend these power supplies:

Fortron 530W : http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduct.asp?description=17-104-968
Antec TruePower : http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduct.asp?description=17-103-914
Ultra X-connect 500W : http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/home/ (search for x-connect or quick find code 155556)

My question is: which one of these (or others if better ones are availalbe) will be the best and will come with 2 SATA connector standard. I don't want to have to mess with adaptors. I'm also trying to stay as far away from $90 as possible (which is why I like the fortron).

I really like the look / features of the Ultra X-Connect, and I've read good reviews. I'm just wondering if you all recommend something better. I can't find any information on the Fortron 530 having any hookups for 2 SATA drives.

Thanks all.

PS - I know some people here have mentioned that "ultra x-connect" is a rebranded Powmax, but I've read other sites that say the "ultra x-connect" is SOLD to powmax...so I don't think that's an issue. Maybe I'm wrong, but I've read on at least 2 different sites that Powmax does NOT manufacturer or design these PS's - Ultra does.

My 530w has only one SATA connector, but I'm not worried about that - stable and reliable power was my first priority when I got it. I can always grab some adapters if I need them. The quick disconnect molexes make up for it. IMO, the 530w is more than worth the inconvenience of one less SATA connector.

You might consider the Antec Neopower, Fortron AX-500, and OCZ 420w or 520w also. No idea how many SATA connectors each has - don't have a SATA hard drive yet ;)

The X-Connect units don't impress me at all... except for looks one can do better for the money. I don't think they are Leadman/Powmax quality, they've tested better than that, but the innards just don't suggest anything to get excited over them. I would call them a great looking 400w unit, but 500w is pushing it for them.

Thanks. I'll probably go with the Fortron 530 and it's lonely SATA connector and just get an adapter for the 2nd drive. It's the cheapest I think, anyway.

Thanks again,

Might want to look at the new Fortron 500 watt unit. I am pretty sure it has more than one SATA connector, and comes sleeved with easy disconnect connectors.

Also, the OCZ units are nice and I think they have 2 SATA connectors aswell.
