ok, for a particular reason, I am unable to install any Service Packs, and I'm wondering how crucial they are. If they are mainly for security, I don't keep anything important. But I just installed the new catalyst drivers for my ATI card and it says they recommend service pack 2, and I dont have it and things seem a little buggy, could it be because of my lack of SP2?

Not even SP1? Having SP1 is necessary for most newer driver installations, along with the latest version of DirectX.
