Well, I've been dreaming up a water cooling system for the better part of 5 years now. Never got around to it, since it was never really needed until the prescott. Switched from a Xp-120 to this setup.
Here are the parts:
Pump: Quiet Cool 1200
Waterblock: Swiftech 6002-p
Rad: 302-2 Autozone
1/2" ID tubing
Rest of the computer:
Dual PSUs 430W Antec/ 300W Generic
3.2E Prescott still finding OC
Abit IC7-G
Pc 4000 OCZ Gold Rev 2 1GB
9800 Pro
I started by making a shroud out of 22 Gauge Aluminum. Bent it by hand, and used some rivets we had.
Here is is mounted in the case:
Here are all the lines hooked up and coolant in:
Dual Psus:
All done:
Cost:
Radiator 17.99
Shroud- Free
120MM fans- 20.00
Waterblock: 42.50
Pump: 25.00
Tubing- 2.50
Fittings- ~10.00
Paint: 5.00
Total: Roughly 140.00
Results:
This thing is solid. Idle temp is 37C prescott at 3650, load goes up to 42C, on an Ic7-G which reads high. Same sytem using a XP-120 idle was around 47C, but load would was between 65-68C! Overall I'm pretty happy. Took me a lot of time, mostly getting the radiator made, and mounted. From there is was all pretty quick.
