VIA Southbridge Bug : Part Deux

I Will try to download the latest drivers from via but the problem is that in windows ME it recognizes the HDD as "General Disk Type 47" but in windows 2K it sees it as "Quantum Fireball Plus KA"....i'll just go and download the drivers

Some A7V's come w/ a Promise ATA100 controller. I'm wondering if that might be your problem. You can download the drivers here (http://www.asus.com/products/Motherboard/driver_ide.html#ata100). Be sure you grab the right file (v160b33.zip).

If your using generic windows drivers for the ATA100 controller, then ME might not be recognizing the drive correctly. Asus' selection of 4in1's and other related downloads can be found here (http://www.asus.com/products/motherboard/driver_utility.html). Good luck..keep us posted!
