6600GT SLI question

Just a quick question, do you have to run 2 of the exact same 6600GT to do SLI? I plan on buying one soon, but what if I can't find it in stock anywhere when i go SLI, can I buy a different brand and still have it work?

They say its reccommended you buy two of the exact same cards for best performance.
But it's also possible to run two of the same core cards (yet different brands) theoretically.

In fact you can also theoretically run a 6600 with a 6800 as well! We'll know more as the PCI-E nforce4 SLI comes out soon.

Also why in the world would you want to downgrade to two 6600GT's??
A 6800 ULTRA is much better man! Trust me!

You can upgrade your PNY later too ;)

Well, I might get a 6800GT PCI-E then, then much later down the road get another, or SLI a 6800GT and 6600GT, that'd be sweet
