I just tried to istall smoothwall on one of my computers, and when I reboot all I get is a bunch of 99 repeated until it says to reboot again. Could this be because I had a bad connection with a computer? one of my ethernet ports were not working very well. Also do you need to be connected to the internet to get smoothwall to boot up?

Thanks for the help

Sounds like you fubar-ed something. If i recall right, i have seen that message on fellow students pc's after they installed linux, and didnt put the boot loader in the correct location, or something like that.

You don't have to be connected to the internet for it to boot up. As far as the fubar about the boot loader, the install takes care of that for you and you don't have to answer any questions about the mbr, etc. You can fubar network settings, but those can be easily fixed running the setup program again. If it were me, re-install, and see if you get the same error. You could have a messed up iso download, bad memory, or hd. You could run memtest86 to test memory, and run the hd's mfg utilities, which can be dowloaded from their site.
