Liquid latex?

I'm just about to order a can of black liquid latex. I want to try it to do some cable sleeving. Anyone tried it before?

I think some people have used liquid electrical tape, should work about the same. Are you just grouping the wires and painting them with latex, or are you painting them, and then wrapping it all up?

me i prefer to melt lead fishing weights and then dip the cables into the molten lead..

I've placed my order now, they said 5 days delivery. 215NOK for 500ml... equals 34$ for 0.13gal. A bit more expensive than a sleeving kit. But this is the type of latex that dryes at roomtemp, could have ordered another kind that needs 70 degr. Celsius to dry.

I also managed to order blue when black is the color I wanted. Sent them a email, hope they read it before they send it.
My idea is to just group the wires in orderly(sp?) fashion and paint it. It should work.. right?

Uhm... On one of those sites that sells stuff that people hide in their bedtable drawer. BTW, I first learned about liquid latex in a episode of CSI!!! That's how I got the idea where to look for it.

In America, we have a product called PlastiDip. It's used to add plastic coating to handles of tools that either never had it or the original coating has come off. It's available at hardware stores off-the-shelf. Might be a better alternative for some people.

Latex is a flexibel(sp?) material, that is why I have high hopes for it. Is that plastic coating flexibel? Maybe I can score some of that here in Norway.

Yeah, it's flexible. I did the battery cables on my car with it... It comes in a lot of colors, too. 8 - 9.00 dollars U.S. for a pint of the stuff, if I recall the price correctly.
