heh, if you read my 'homemade radiator' cooler thread, you might be guessing I'm tryin gto make my own water syste...anyways, I'm having trouble finding someof the materials used to make real nice system cooler, but I'll make do with what I have...

The water blcok is the one that worries me, simply because if that is messed up, then my cpu goes kablouie and then that's no fun :(

Anyways, so, I read prolly every article I could find, and spent some time talking to some ppl....

Found some interesting articles...
Many ppl from the overclockers.com site used a simple PVC cap, and just used a peice of alluminium/copper and connected that to the cpu
One article really interested me,
http://www.spodesabode.com/view.phppageid=directdie1&page=2
basically this guy used a direct die cooling, which I think is a bit crazy...I do like his water block though...

So, I'm thinking of doing this:
Using 4 inches of the bottom of a 1.5 litre miniral water bottle
Connect 2 nipples in it
Epoxy an alluminium/copper plate to it

One of the drawbacks is that I can't find a way to clamp this to the socket...but this problem is minor, I can prolly buy some clamps that will do the job...

What do you think?
Will this work?

Dude your link does work, but it says there is an error....... Anyway about the waterblock thing, from what I have read, you are better off getting an old heatsink and slapping a plastic dome over it. Or you could get one like I have, the Maze2, it rocks.

I mean, think of all the time you are going to have to spend welding, epoxing, waterproofing, ect..... I think spending $42 is worth it. Plus it is tested to 1000 PSI!!

Well, if I did it this way, it would cost me epoxy gglue and an alluminium plate...

i did think of the heat sink, it's just that my heatsink has all the fins and so the water will seep through. Unless I can find some way to plug the fins....

i got a small heatsink (pentium i think) and stuck plexiglass sides on it with something called nail and seal (it is a waterproof stuff that is as strong as nails) it works well.

Actually that's a great idea.....now all I gotta do is obtain some plexiglass.....

OOh, forgot to ask. What should the placement of the nipples on the water block be?

to a watercool unit. I'm still thinking about the inlet/outlet position. For the mounting I'll probably use the 4 mobo holes.
I'll let you know If I succeed in anything :).

Ya...I'm not htining that far ahead as to clamp...perhaps something to clamp it down. I don't have the 4 mobo holes though, so that's a *****
