Yah, I am a complete NEWBIE to this!
thats why I am asking you guys for some help. I need to know ALL the possiblee things I would need to buy to have a wireless Network. I have Cable Internet. Thanks guys~
Well, wireless will be a bit expensive.
You sure you have to? Wires aren't that bad ;).
Think Best Buy carries everything you'd need, but of course their associates wouldn't be much help.
get a wireless Linksys (or comparable company's) switch, a wireless NIC for each PC. That should about do it, I think.
For the love of GOd make sure it's 802.11b and not whatever standard Intel was trying to shove onto everyone.
YOu need a wireless base station, I think SMC makes a really nice one and you need a wireless nic card, either a PCI card that hold a PCMCIA card or a PCMCIA card for you laptop.

Quite a bit I'd say. The base stations I've looked at averaged around $500. The cards averaged around $100 each. So I think that would be around $750 CDN
