i have only been using w2k for a few weeks. so i still have a lot to learn. when i try to run ner5.5 as a power user i get a message saying that only admins have access to burners. how do i change it so that my power user account or other users have access to the burner?

Well, I'm not exactly sure where it is, but it may be inside the local and security settings from the admin tooks in control panel.

You could always do a shift right click to open the app as administrator I spose too.

i've heard its a bad idea to always work as administrator. and that for everyday use just setup a power user account. this is my comp and if you tell me its completely safe to always work as administrator i guess i will just delete my power user account.

thanks fof the advice.

is this your computer? i always run with me as the administrator. but no one else uses my computer so it doesnt matter.

there really isnt that much to learn on any version of windows. just play arround with it for a week and you'll know everything you need to know.

if you an administrator in the control panel you can go to the icon that says users and passwords and change your login from poweruser to administrator.

or you can just press ctl alt del and lock the computer to keep off pesky roomates.

The way to set your security settings for each program from the administrator screen to follow over into other users is simply to right click on the program/file folder-click on the security tab-click add-and select/add the group from the list that you want to give access-make sure you select each tab for which permissions you want the user to have after you add them to the program group. HOWEVER--this is not your problem, what u face is that your cdw program needs access to the aspi layer. which due to 2k security is not possible in other than admin mode

1 key question. Win2000 asks for an admin account when you first install it. What was the username and password to that account. If you don't remember it, a format is in your future, because only admins can assign admins. You won't change any security settings unless you are logged in as admin.
