I am having problems using ghost on my raid 0. If anybody has done this can you explain how. I really want to create an image of two partitions to keep on cd in case I mess something up. My system is in my sig. Thanks in advance.

As far as I know Ghost doesn't support imaging from RAID drives. You will need to image each individual disk and burn it which will involve removing the disks a few times. I can't guaratee that will work either.

Basically it's going to be a pain in the ass and very time consuming without knowing if it will work or not.

Like Jon said, Symantec doesn't support using Ghost to image a RAID array...as this KB article makes note of...

...I've read some forum posts at different sites regarding this, AFA a number of people that have used Ghost successfully to image a RAID array...but without instructions on how it was done.:(

Thanks I have already read that page but I was hoping that one of the people who got it to work would reply and let me know how to do it. I am still trying to find a workaround without destroying my data.

You can use ghost on RAID arrays. But usually only on SCSI RAID arrays.

You have the same problem I did. These motherboard manufacturers will put IDE arrays on their boards but the idiots wont supply DOS drivers for the IDE controller.

I believe I fixed my problem I used a different boot disk that has a newer version of dos. I was able to see my partitions and ghosted them. I am waiting for a new harddrive to test them. I read somewhere that Ghost uses an outdated ibm dos. and tried my dr. dos that i use to flash my bios. If this has worked for anyone else please post here and keep me informed. Thanks for everyone's help.

To answer question, yes you can ghost on a Raid 0 array, I did it by ghosting a partition to a CD Image. This is the only successful way that I have got it to work so far. And just to let you know it takes about 3hrs for 12 gigs if your using a CD burner. Now I havn't tried to Image to a drive, but it should be possible.
