its too early to be sure. i'll bet better drivers will pull the SLI 6600GT ahead of the 6800GT single.

i read somewhere that SLI 6600GT was scoring 40% higher than a single 6800GT. the article you linked to is from sept 29th, two months ago. my info might be newer, but i don't know where i saw it.

benefit will be that when you are ready for your second 6600gt they will probably be much cheaper.

Man Maxvla I hope you are right about the SLI 6600 gt being 40% better than the 6800 gt. That would make my decision for a new card SOO much easier.

I am definately looking at this as well, but SLI mobos might be a bit too much :(

The point is to be able to buy one later when necessary at a cheaper price.

the latest computer power user magazine did a test achieving something like 70% + increases in performance when running 2 6600s in SLI as opposed to one. I remember it saying the performance of two 6600s in SLI being about the same as one 6800. or maybe the 6800 still won. don't remember all the facts and since it's a magazine i dont have links. ps two 6800s in SLI also achieved about a 70% increase over one 6800.
