Alright I have no idea whats happening here , here is my system -

8k7a with athlon 1.2
leadtek G2 ultra
little HDD I took out of my IBM

Alright the first time I set everything up on my PC including the latest drivers I was getting like 9500 in 3Dmark 2000 , 4500 in 3Dmark 2001 and in the Q3 time demo @ 32bit color it was like 127fps @ 16bit color 155fps.

Ok then I decided to reformat my HDD and after I installed all my drivers I decided not to reinstall a cpu cooling program so I did some benchmarks and sure enough my memory scores were up some and I'm pretty sure my cpu scores went up some also which is great. Well then I installed 3dmark2000 and fully expected my scores to go up some , after the default benchmark was done I lokked over and first thought it said 9700 but I took a double take and the score was actually 5700 , wow almost a 4000 point drop from what? Well I ran the benchmark again and watch it this time and it was noticably slower than I remember it , you know kind of choppy even the cpu speed test was way slower.

Well after 3 reformats and reinstalling the drivers and resetting CMOS I can honestly say I dont know whats wrong. The only things I can think of are when I try to install the AMD 761 miniport driver from my mobo disk the amdmp480 I get this error "Cannot find this file or one of its components C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\suratreg.exe" , I would of posted a screen shot but every time I try to save the file as a .gif it comes out invalid so theres no picture. When I install the 4in1 drivers I dont have that problem though? Also my boot up in way faster and the only thing I really noticed is this "ECC PCI Audio Adaptor not installed" or something like that.

Well I hope that enough info I will be back online some time later today.

Well it may be due to the tweaking that you had done on the HD before the reformat. But my advice to you is dont just go by the scores you get on 32Mark, try it out on some games and see how it performs!

-=sky=- You nailed it sky I finally got around to reformating with my system @ default setting and guess what the first run through 3dmark2k was 9628 , no thats more like what I was expecting without my cooling program slowing down my CPU.

I still cant get a pick up but here's a bmp oh ya this is with the 12.90's I just heard the 20.80's came out yesterday I will have to check those out later.
