Hello all. First time poster here so pre-apologies for any silly questions.
I have been doing a bunch of reading here as this Athlon is my first AMD and I do not want to fry it. Problem is, I can't find anywhere that tells me what are acceptable 'normal' temps.
At idle I am in the mid 40s and at load (running Prime95 for 1 hour), I am at 50-51 and holding.
Are those temps acceptable?
My case has 1 intake in the front and only the power supply fan on the rear. I am looking at mouting a rear fan because there is a place for it, but have not yet.
Thanks everyone for your input.
Here's the details on my rig (I am buliding it from a retired P2 450):
EPoX 8KTA3 MB
Athlon 1.4 G @ 1.4
ThermalTake 6cu HSF (Ordered a WBK 38 but they sent this)
Standard goop on bottom of HSF
128 MB PC100 (Waiting for my 512MB of PC133 to arrive)
Viper V550 (Upgrading Later)
2.1 GB Drive for Win2000
9.1 HP GB SCSI
32X CD
4X Ricoh CD-RW
SB Live
NetGear NIC
USR Modem
