I've seen people mentioning the use of a shroud/skirt or whatever. I'd also like to give it a try as it sounds like a good idea to keep the airflow directly on the HS. My Fan is blowing directly on the HS if it makes a difference. Is cardboard safe? What about electical tape or duct tape? I know that HSF gets kinda hot, but the fins aren't nearly as hot as the CPU die... I just don't want to start a fire in my case! That would totally suck.

Oh yeah, thanks to all you guys who have helped me with this system. Its running rock solid at 1.35GHz (9 x 150) with the case cover on and Radio Shack paste! Temps stay sub 48C even after playing Q3 online for 2 hours...

Cardboard and duck tape are commonly used, I think you'd be fine with them. They're easier to work with than sheet metal :)

I don't know at what air temperature cardboard/paper spontaneously iginites, but I'm sure it's a lot hotter than your heatsink ever gets.

Ya, Cardboard will be enough
However I'd go for the metal (mainly for the looks)
It might take longer but its worth it.

metal is heavy too, not what I like.

But metal could be beter as to not moving around, it will be easier to hold and will not flap if ducktape loses. (wouldn't use any ducks)

Electrical tape would look pretty slick if done properly. Plus, it sticks to just about anything.
