What are your complete system specs?
Possible problems are:
-incompatible memory modules
-memory timings are not set properly
-faulty memory.
Have you tried just running the single 512mb module you just purchased by itself?
Hi, welcome to the forums.
Try each stick in turn, in various slots to see if you can figure out the problem. Try running memtest86 from www.memtest86.com to see if it can pick up any errors.

hmmm ok have tried each stick and different slots all working fine
could it be in my settings??? from the paging settings??
checking my system propertities from control menu and went to advance tab to checking my performance setting
not sure if this si the place or back at the setup menu for the entire system :P
anyway here is the total paging file size for all drives
minimum allowed : 2MB
recommended: 766MB
currently allocated: 768MB
one of my drives (application) has been custom paged to
initial size 768mb
maz size 1536mb
lol oh man have no idea  anyway thanks guys for giving me ideas to work wit could be just the motherboard?? but any more ideas welcome
could be one of these 2 state from 'nuttin'
-incompatible memory modules
-memory timings are not set properly

ok this is weird my 256 + 512 sticks work just finr together but if I just add 512 + 512 the com does not run ???
so I just put back my normal sticks 256 + 512 again and the save mode setup appears this is wat it said for the CPU SPEED help.... 'improper CPU speed setting'
the current setting on it now is 2400MHz
should I just set it to manual? man got to get this ready for World of Warcraft aheuieaha oh well

Timings are set in the bios.
do you know the model numbers of these memory modules you have?
Sounds like incompatible modules. I'm assuming they are not all from the same manufacturer?

Well it could be incompatable sticks, are you using dual channel? if so, which ones in each channel. In your BIOS, your speeds might be set to SPD, which might be running all your memory at the same speeds, but might be incorrect for 1 or 2 sticks. What are the rated frequencies of each stick (like DDR 266, DDR400, etc)
