I got the core to 230 and the memory to 380, but my 3dMark2001 score still hangs around 2400. Only 50 points difference with the oc. Do you think it is my CPU thats holding me back? I have a PIII 800, non oc. I have tried ocing it, but a cant get above 1000 mhz with my alpha pept66. Probably too hot? my case temperature is about 23 c while my ambient is about 21-22 c.

Dont think the cpu will have any great effect 2001 its more the video card,agp bus and memory.
My p3 at 1100mhz got about the same score as my athlon at 1550mhz. with the same video card and drivers.

Your core doesn't have much to do with your performance,
Your ramdac is more important.

I have the "herc profit 2 geforce 2 gts" and i push my core at 210 and ramdac at 425, I also have the blorb, cyclone and duel 60mm card blower on mine.

Your video card may be overheating if you only get around the same score. I have the Geforce 2 GTS. I overclocked it 220/380 and received score increases around 300+ points. I did however do each of the 6 tests seperate from eachother allowing my GPU to cool for about a minute between each test. Mine overheated for some reason when i run the full test at once and it kicks my timings back down to stock.

I recomend that when your not gaming you slow your cards back down.

I drop my card back down to 200 core and 330 ramdac when I'm not gaming. even though I have the cooling to control it there is no need to push it when its not being used.

where do you guys get your bench marking programs.
I've never benchmarked mine, I usually just play the games and push my card untill I see small flickers on the screen, then I drop it about 5mhz till they stop.
I had my ramdac up to 477 at one point but after 20 minz in Project IGI the whole screen locked up.

I want to get a thermo probe so I can keep a good eye on my vcard temps, now all I can do is wait for flickers:)

I only overclock my card when performing tests to see how high of a score i can produce. It is always at stock settings otherwise. As for temperature monitoring I buy ASUS cards which have a program called SmartDoctor for temp readings. You must of heard of 3dmark2001 by now if you are posting here.
MadOnions 3Dmark2001 seems like the one benchmarking program everyone uses to see what kind of score they can achieve.
Download 3dmark2001 here-----> MadOnion's 3Dmark2001 (http://gamershq.madonion.com/)

I've managed a score of 3864 with:
P4 1.7
Asus Geforce 2 GTS deluxe 220/380
