Ms. Pac Man hahahahaha just kidding. I'd go for Half-Life 2.
Definelty the top three looking Doom III, Far Cry, and HL2. Also, EQII is supposed to stress machines out a lot at the top settings, as does SWG and other MMOS (pretty much anything SOE).

Definately HL2. With everything on high with full AA and AF, it will blow your socks off.

Yea all 3 are good Half life: 2, Doom3, and Farcry
Ok, looks like i'll be buying Half-Life 2 with it...Old counter-strike is getting kind of old, i think i'll try some CS;Source!
Thanks,
Ace
Seeing as you have a Nvidia card i wouldn't play anything newer than Quake 2 as it will struggle!!;) j/k.
Definatly the big 3.
Also try Halo it's pretty demanding, and a big ONS maps in UT2004 can drop my frames a lot.

another vote for hl2 for gameplay, but for serious show, pretty colors and music. Try need for speed underground 2.

Would there be a way to use my xbox controller to hook up to a PC to play NFSU:2?

I'd do Doom3. That card is specifically designed to play D3

You can get a USB adapter for pretty cheap online, maybe even in a game store if you are lucky.
ps I like the PacMan suggestion. People are too worried about gfx and not gameplay anymore and PacMan has gameplay to spare ;)

not sure, I haven't had an xbox in a long time. try some searches. I recommend the logitech wingman controller. it is the same as the playstation controller and it's only like 10-15 bucks.

yes you can buy a usb-xbox converter
or you can rewire your xbox controller
HL2 looks the best, but doom 3 is probably the most demanding on your system. I would personally get HL2, FarCry is awesome 2
Here are some great showpieces in diffrent genres:
Fps:
Doom3, Far-Cry, Halflife 2, Halo, Painkiller
Rpg:
Morrowind, Gothic 2, Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines
MMO:
Saga Of Ryzom, Everquest II
Racing:
Nfs Underground 1 and 2, Toca: Race driver 2, Colin Mcrae 2005, Rallisport Challenge
Sports:
Nhl2005, Tiger Woods 2005, Nba Live 2005
These games should whet your appetite for good looking games... and best of all they all feature good gameplay.

Far Cry with the 1.3 patch and HDR rendering will seriously kill your comp. But look sooo nice.

I don't know about hl2 for two reasons. First, your card is a nvidia, and they perform much slower than the ati cards in hl2. Second of all, a 3.4Ghz p4 isn't all that powerfull considering there are 3.8Ghz p4's, and A64's running around.

hl2 plays pretty good for me with my nvidia card.I'd say try just about any new game and they should all play pretty good.

Nvidia cards are hardly that much slower, about 5fps slower than the equivelent ATI card.
A 3.4Ghz P4 is still fast.

great just keep that processor and card cool. i had a 5700LE and it overheated with a fan on it. WTF. well but the 5700LE will be gone in 24 days  lol. with a 6600GT AGP! The 6800 series is great.

All what the others have said for games. But if into MMO's EQII will definatly stress the system out to the max. Can't run nearly maxed setting on my system (more medium-high) if i want it to be fast and stutter free with 2 gigs of ram in my system.
It pushes it hard very hard.
The Sims 2 lol. For a pretty looking game though NFSU would look pretty sweet when in full race mode.

if you REALLY want to test its power with a game i cant tell you it cant take eq2 max settings in towns but hl2 or doom 3 are good also
I'd have to say that EQII is a lot more stressful on machines than Doom 3 or HL2 are. I put everything to max on HL2 or D3, I still got decent frames out of the gaming machine in my sig, and that's with 6x AA. Now in EQII, The game became the choppiest thing i've seen in a LONG time with even 2x AA, and that's with most settings put on medium.

Just because a games choppy, has crap performance doesn't mean it's more stressful, could just be coded really ****ty, like Halo for example.

EQ2 really does have some really really good graphics. In the city the game gets choppy since there are so many other players. I 6800 in my sig runs 1280x1024 High Performance to run well and the graphics still look damn good.

I'm sorry, but the graphics in Halo simply suck, even for the PC. That game is trash, through and through. EQII on the other hand is an MMORPG made by the people who own the largest, most popular MMORPG in western culture, as far as I know. I'm pretty sure it's coded well.

Your buying a gaming PC to show off?? Man, how about getting a game with a good plot? Graphics is only 40% of games you know... Like NFSU2, great game, crap graphics.. Damn XBOX, slow!! HL2, awesome graphics, and games play i've heard. I'm waiting on my copy being posted.
Show off tool = 3D Mark 05

Try Half-Life 2 and Doom III. Another way to show off your PC is to benchmark it and post the scores. :)
