Just bought the Redeon VE video card, and havent opened it yet. Can you run the hyperZ hack on this card? If I can will it be a descent gamer? How does it compare with the LE version of the Radeon lineup?

Yes Open it for Gods sake :)

Yes you can enable HyperZ with a reg hack, and you can overclock it to 183 EASILY with some new Heatsinks and fans. SO it will bassicly be a normal Radeon. Open it !!! :)

O.K. got it opened, installed, and dl'ed the hack to clock it and enable HyperZ. I'm not impressed yet:( . It hasnt performed much faster than my MX200, and thats pretty pathetic. I'll try the latest driver on this card, and if that doesnt work....it's going back for an exchange for an MX400.

I really wanna upgrade my video card, I would like to replace my Asus Geforce 256 DDR V6800 deluxe. I 3d game a bit and watch movies on my pc

I would like to get the Radeon 64 DDR vivo, but can not really afford. I am looking at the:

WinFast GeForce2 MX SH Pro (GeForce2 MX-400 with 5.5ns memory) it has TV out but no vivo which I would like but I can forgo it. can this card be overclocked?

Is this card decent, will it be much better than what I have and will video quality be as good. I preferred my ATI Rage Fury 32 card over my Asus for video clarity. I can sell my current card and upgrade to the Winfast for about $70 canadian.

Or should I just wait and get the radeon?

No don't do that, get the LE or for a little more than the VE you can get a 64mb DDR. You were right when going for a Radeon in the first place, just a teensy bit off :)

This VE card is a piece of crap!!! My MX200 that was $50 cheaper is just about as good of a card, and I dont get artiftacting in 32 bit color on 3d Mark 2001 with my MX200. The VE does have some nice graphics for the most part, but only scores a 1500-1600 in 3DMark 2001 and my MX200 gets 1400.......so I think that the VE is going back lol. Ill most likely trade it for a MX400 since they didnt have a LE card in the store.

NO!

no

Well, no. I told it to open it, because generally those cards can overclock easy with a good HSF on it, plus he can get the HyperZ hack. I didnt want him to just have it sitting there!

the Radeon VE has HyperZ enabled but no T&L (Texture and Lighting). The Radeon LE has T&L but HyperZ isnt enabled but can be with a Reg Hack. And the Radeon LE performs almost like the Radeon 32mb DDR when OC'd and HyperZ enabled. Its a good buy. I dont have one but my friend does and its really nice.

thats my $0.02

cisco kid... i have a creative geforce pro, which is basically the same card as your asus, and i also have an mx400. the bottom line is: the gf 256 ddr is quicker than the mx400. i don't think it'd be worth your money to "upgrade" to an mx400. imho, wait a while and get the radeon.
