ok well we got a IBM Aptiva from a friend (for free) and my dad will be able to sell it for around 100 bucks if it has windows 98

it had 95

It has a pentium 1 at 100mhz
1mb video ram
44mb ram
1gb hdd

i formated and all that and put windows 98 se on it. But now i cant get the sound too work

The sound card is a multi funtcion card, it has sound ports, modem port, and the game port (older serial ports) and its by MWave (thats the brand) i checked IBM.com, they had drivers for it, it didnt work though. I checked driverguide.com and dled a crap load of drivers none of em work, whenever something seems to work, it doesnt and it ends up screweing up the computer so i have to format (formatted 3 times already)

any ideas? Could it possibly be because the drivers are only compatible with 95? i dled all the drivers that said it was for windows 98 but none of em worked still wtf!!!!

plz help

Go to the IBM website and find the correct audio drivers for the Aptiva in the Support section.
