View Full Version : Windows ME suk!!
Just install windows 2000 and guess what, my 2dmark2001 score go up like 1000 points. I got 3077 with windows 2000 and only 2087 with ME. I thought it's the opposite. ME suppose to be better. well anyway, I am happy :) comparing at madonion.com with the same processor and diff video card. I was obove the GTS...hahahaha,, just below the GF3...how sweet.

Good score. is the card hacked and overclocked?
yeah, HyperZ enabled and core/memory to 183mhz and tweaked with RadeonTweaker
Sounds like bad WinME drivers to me as usually WinME or 9X is about 10-20% faster not 33% slower
I tried the both the latest official driver for ME and the beta driver. The official one crash when doing the "car chase" high detail. the Beta one didn't but only 4-8 fps, every other games beside car chase had good frame rate.
But now when I use win2000. the car chase was fast 35-40 fps for the car chase low detail and 18-25 fps for the high detail.
Have you tryed anything other than 3dmark as synthetic benchmarks are not always the best way to gauge performance, quake 3 for instance?
nope, where can I get that? but I hate to wait for it to download.. using my old 56k
well unless you want to buy it I can't think of any other way than downloading the demo. What 3d games do you have
just got Max payne and tribe 2, but couldn't install tribe 2 cuz of file damage ;)
Max payne looks good, smooth...

if max payne runs smooth, anything else will
I was thinking of using something for benchmarking, does Max payne have a timedemo feature that you could test the differance between ME and 2k as I think it probabally is just 3dmark being stupid, or a setting that is differant between the 2 os's that you have overlooked
