hi all been away for awile. i'm wondering what a really good card would be to replace by GF4-440mx. actually my wife wants to know for X'mas. Has to be AGP. i was thinking about 6600gt.
Thx from my wife
If you can get out tomorrow comp usa has the 6800NU for $200 which is an absolute steal. If not there Circuit city has the 9800pro for $149.

Yeah seems like a great value card.
Value, hell the people that have got them to this point have achieved super sick over clocks. Take a look in the NV section for the 6600GT review.

But that's given the idea that he has adequate cooling, which if the guy has not, does not overclock, then more than likely he doesn't.
The clocks mentioned in that review were all on stock cooling I believe. I dont think there is any aftermarket cooling for it yet, and I hear that the agp bridge gets smokin hot.

He was talking price...
AGP 6600GT for sure. I doubt it will be under $200 before Christmas though.
especially with the current supply and demand issue.

I have heard that the 6600GTs are supposed to be more powerful than the 6800LEs or NUs. I don't know about the prices in America but in the UK, a 6600GT is from £140- £180

6600GTs fall short in higher res and AA and AF to the 6800NU, but they do beat a 6800LE. I would look out for the BGF 6800OC card for 249 and bestbuy or frys outpost.
