Windows Update Problem

When I go to make a Windows update on IE and it starts searching for updates thats as far as it gets. I never get to actually making an update. Any ideas why and how I can fix this?

Turn off automatic updating.

I think it is under right click on my computer and click propterties.

It should be there.

Some firewalls prevent windows update from working correctly, just disable firewall and re-enable after update.
