Please help!
I have received a shiny new Celeron 900 that i wanna push to the limit in the 'now growing old' Asus P3B-F mobo. Using a brand-name slocket (supports as low as 1.8 volts thru jumpers). I only see 2.0 Volts as the lowest setting in the P3B-F CMOS Setup. Just flashed to 1007 beta 1. Getting no picture, no post, but the power supply turns on. Downloaded 1008 BIOS from the .de asus ftp site. Will try it next.
Tried the CPU in another (MSI 6309 - 694X) box, and it booted just fine. Of course, i'm back to my old Socket370 celeron 433 for now. Any suggestions?

Running a 433 and looking in the CMOS will only show 2.0 as the lowest Vcore because Medicino(celeron1) cores run at 2.0 default.

Set the slotket to auto, clear your cmos, and it should work.

Oh yea and are you positive the slotket supports FCPGA coppermines?

The Mendocino core thing sounds right (knowing the Asus's usual design scre-ups - i like TOTAL control over my voltage).

If your slocket only support down to 1.8 volts, then it definitely does not support Coppermines (which go as low as 1.5 volts) You DEFINITELY need a new slocket.

Sounds easy enough
