hey there's two types:

One is blue and sort of rough texture like mx 500
the other is greyish and glossy like mx 510 texture

i've seen both in person

seen the first one alot as floor model at places but most of them sell grey and glossy (the one i have)

saw the rough blue ones being sold at best buy tho

whats up with this? there's two different types of mx 1000's and logitech never even informed us....

Perhaps they just revised the materials and did not think it was worth spending the money to inform people about it?

weird thing is, i saw the glossy ones in stock (at sams club) before the blue ones were in stock (at best buy).

lol and these appear to be the "revised" ones,,,

any of you having lag problems in games? i have heard that some of the mx1000s simply dont track if you do a quick pick up of the mouse and stuff for turns in fps games. any of u experienced this?

how long does the battery last for you guys, and i would seriously consider getting an mx1000 if i knew for sure that this wouldnt happen.......: http://3dgpu.com/forums/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=76 now i know that guy is beating up on that mouse but cmon......no movement at all?! and sometimes i get pretty frantic in bfv when some guy comes storming in a room and i need a quick turn and if my mouse did that?! i would be p/oed for sure!!!

That video is awful. He's tapping the mouse straight down for like a split second and then moving it over. The MX1000 is about a jillion times better than that vid makes it out to be, the accuracy is phenomenal and it works on more surfaces than any optical mouse.

i would still like to know why it didnt move at all......im guessing i have done something like that before in bfv.....maybe not that intense but still, im just worried ill get one of the bad ones that'll lag.

Probably.

I'm thinking about geting the Logitech diNovo desktop set, so any issues regarding the MX family of mice is of great importance to me. Anyone having problems?

My MX1000 is perfectly fine. Although I don't consider that diNovo worth the money in my humble, worthless opinion.

If you saw an mx510 for 25 bucks and an mx500 for 20 bucks, which one would you get?

dangit, they mustve discontinued the rebate offer, now its just a flat 32 and 35 for the red and blue respecitvely. still a great price if you ask me.

o and also the mx510 has a lot better of an optical sensor than a 500, which makes it geared more towards gamers like me!! :)

edit: also there is 29.99 at tiger direct: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=986637&CatId=539 i dunno what the cost is for shipping there though.

MX510 is 5.8 megapixels per second.

MX500 is 4.7 megapixels per second

I have both and damned if I can notice any difference :)
