I think they call the no. 2 pencil a medium in Europe.

I have tried the pencil trick with a number of pencils but my mobo likes a really strong signal thru the L1 bridges so they didn't work reliably for me. I had to buy a conductive ink pen & paid around $20 to get one in my country:( :( :( .

If you have the time, find somebody who's near-sighted and whose hands aren't shakey :0)

If you have eye problem, try getting a magnifiling glass. I closed my L1s with a B leaded mechanical pencil. It works.

Make sure you get the tip really sharp. I used my desk as support for my arm and help down the CPU tight. I have unlocked 2 chips both worked fine. You can erase ur mistakes too so dont worry. They dont have to look perfect they just shouldnt touch.

Anybody ever short 2 birdges? what happened?

Solder always works nice, and its a little more permanent :D

Any of these will work. I have used the second method myself.

Let us know how it goes!
Quote from article:
"I have what I think is a pretty slick technique of unlocking AMD's bridges. I use the rear window defroster repair paint (keep reading, here's the cool part). Just lay down one big thick blob covering all 8 pins; then scratch 3 lines through the blob like this - :|:|:|:. You now have 4 little blobs - the 4 bridges - that's it - done! It seems to me this method requires much less time, effort, and dexterity than fashioning 4 very fine lines."
