Would it be possible to get higher o\c speeds if i get water cooling? Right now i have a 800Mhz Tbird which i can overclock to 1ghz but it runs too hot to keep there. I have the voltage mod done to my asus A7V. So if i get watercooling would i be able to reach higher speeds? Maybe 1.1ghz?

Thanks

All we can honestly say is "possibly"

It may very well be possible, have a look at the CPU database on the front pages to see what other 800's have acheived......

Well said, [the above reply] theres not much more to say except when i added better cooling i was able to go higher so if you think temps are your weakest link then yes you should be able to get more how much though is just a guess.

i check on the CPU data base on the front page and it says that a guy got his 800mhz amd tbird running at 1.5ghz. WOW!

Now when i put the Vcore up to 2.02 i can hit speeds of 1050mhz but the temps are very hot almost close to 60 idle so i dont mess around with it anymore i shut it down. But when i try to up the FSB up one notch it boots but when i get to windows 98 screen its half way there the top half is a black screen and the bottom half is the normal windows screen but cut inhalf.

So what i am thinking is if i where to get better cooling then i would be able to reach the speed of 1.1ghz. Hopefuly

Thanks for the information guys really appreciate that

Since its beeen really hot here because of summer i had to undo the overclocking and put everything back to stock because it was running WAY too hot. Right now if i run my computer at 1 A.M. which i normaly do its still at 50c idle. Its not hot right now its 1 AM and my Vcore is at 1.58. So i dont know why its running so hot when its not o\ced and the Voltage is as low as i can get it to work. And the thing is still running Really hot. I have a Alpha6035 heatsink and fan on there. With 2 90MM fans blowing directly on the CPU. then 1 90MM fan blowing in the case. then 2 90MM fans take the air out of the case. But still at 50C idle. I dont know what could have happened during these last few months but the temp readings have been way to hot and its not even overclocked. Thats another reason i was thinking of watercooling. Its not as loud and it could work cooler.??

Any advice

Thanks
