I am trying to get a seti box without video card, keyboard, nor mouse. WHats the easiest way to do this. Should I set it in the bios, halt on no errors. And also how to fix if any problem occurs.
Thanks

Set it to halt on no errors, and use something like VNC to remotely administrate a Windows box, or SSH for admin'ing a Linux computer.

without video card??

Hi, perhaps You are meaning a pluged video card yes, but no attached
monitor/screen.

Most of Mainboard will not start without a "valid" grafic card.

There is a must for grafic card, build on mainboard or plugged in.

OK, I admit, the unix people do very strange work sometimes, I believe they are testing a boinc client for Linux without having a CPU on board...

Hints:
-be compatible, use alway the same directory structure.
-Use a seperate folder to keep the account XML files.
-make a install batch/cmd
-try to use the same client release on every client.
using cpdn, look for at least 600-700 MB free, for seti only, I guess 50-80 MB should be ok.

Take a closer look to the rpc thinggy, this mechanismus, this framework allowes U to remote attach to project, suspend work and more, for local and remote BOINC clients
BOINC is open, build your gui and solution yourself

In my case, I build my own GUI and remote agents, for private use only (m$) . With this agent I can do more than boinc is offering to us.
(restart remote Boinc client, restart client, alarming, viewing remote tasklist)

I have one crunching in a cardboard box. PSU, 10GB HDD, mainboard, CPU, RAM, and video card. It's running XP (for other reasons) so I need a hdd instead of CD for Knoppix. I use remotely anywhere to access it through LAN.

I'm running the following units with 1 monitor, 1 mouse, 1 keyboard:
1. 2.4B Gaming Rig Boinc running full time when not gaming
2. P4 3.2C Dell Seti full time
3. P4 3.2C Dell Seti full time
4. XP1700+ without case Seti full time
5. XP1700+ without case Seti full time

I only have 3 cables for my KVM switch so I use Real VNC to connect to and check on machines. All machines have their bios set to ignore all hardware errors on reboot but still get stuck if they dont see a keyboard and mouse. So for rebooting I move my KVM connections from machine to machine, but they go for months at a time without reboot.

i just buy the microatx motherboards that have built in video and then set the halt on no errors option and it boots just fine then i controll the comp with vnc and it works great...
