Good Day!

I was wondering if anyone would care to give me a little more information on the Pentium IV 1.5GHz.

Tomorrow I take delivery of a spanking new system that isnt built for overclocking but I desperately needed some cheap but new equipment.

I am preying that it will deliver the goods when it comes to overclocking....I have read up on it, discussed it on this forum etc but I am wondering if someone could possibly answer a couple of questions for me...

Is it safe to run 400MHZ RDRAM at 460?

Should I stick with the 'stock' P4 processor fan?

Is ''tractoring down'' realy going to cause me the problems I have read about? (I believe this to be the correct term for the processor slowing down when it gets too hot)

Having overclocked smaller pentiums and AMD's in the past, is there anything remotely different from overclocking a 1GHZ+ chip to a P166MMX or and AMD 500 that I should know about before setting to it with a screwdriver?

And finally...is the grafix card overclocking settings on the board or in the bios.

any info is mucho appreciated.

Regards,

Glenn

P.S. I noticed when I mentioned my new computer the other week to you all I saw a tumble weed blow across my screen....unlike other times when I have questioned youre superior, collective intellect!!:)

Is this because no-one realy knows much about it yet or becuase you all in the AMD forum and have given up on Intel cause its a pile of junk (ive heard)?

mister!

you know... anything can run higher than the standard... as long as the mobo supports the bus speeds that the memory uses... like:

400 rdram runs at 400mhz = you can run 460mhz sure... if the mobo supports the said speed, but the mobo will give what the rdram needs which is 400, and will give 460 on the processor.

got what i mean??

ok here is the second, yes you can put on the stock fan. but be sure to put another fan, the stock fan works like nothing though.. put a more powerful fan the can hold temperatures atleast lower than 40c ok?

so that's the info i can give.. i've overclocked a 1.5 gig P4 to more than 1.8gig :)

so you can make it too
