I'm pretty sure i got a 2.4C...
My idle temp with stock cooling is 45C and about 55C after playing a game.
Are those normal for stock cooling?
I just got a zalman CNPS7000A-Cu , im going to install it later
I'm pretty sure i got a 2.4C...
Download CPU-Z and check to see what chip you have, www.cpuid.com
Never owned one, but i know my Northwoods (C) ran around 32-35 at idle. And it never saw a stock cooler, so i can't comment on that either. I would get some AS5 and put that cooler on, then check temps.

Under "Specification" it says what CPU it is, it will even say if you have the "M0" stepping, the 2.4's that typically clock the highest.

Not necessarily.
You will see, under "code name", "Northwood" and Pentium 4 2.4C as the model number.

i see northwood for mine, but all mine says is "pentium 2.4ghz" not "2.4Cghz"
Is it the "revision"? because mine is C1

Sorry. I had a brain fart. Forgive me. :bang head
If your FSB indicates 200 or 800MHz, you have a Northwood 2.4C.
Being sick screws with my mind.

Northwood B.
You could probably push it a bit higher without significant risk.
