my CDROM disappeared in "my computer" - XP

i've just installed a new dvd-rw and though device manager picks the thing up and it also works in dos and all, the drive is not showing up in "my computer"

i used to deal with stuff like this by formatting, but i'm on xp, so the activation is going to hurt


anyways - is there a way to make explorer or "my computer" pick up the drive? e.g. just lost "F:" - can i make the drive letter come back?

Have you tried removing related drivers and rebooting.

Also check "Disk Management".
