I saw a link on the [H] site to this "ice probe" (http://www.electracool.com/probe.htm), which is designed for fishtank cooling and for water coolers. Basically it's a 57 watt pelt with a heatsink/fan on the hot side and a metal probe on the cold side. Obviously the cold side sticks into the water.

I'm thinking about trying one in my reservoir. Clearly it doesn't have enough juice to bring temps down a huge amount, but I'm thinking it could reduce core temps 3-7C. That would contribute to stability in my setup, but wouldn't pose a risk of condensation. Any thoughts? Think the difference might be closer to 0-1C?

i think you would be better of sticking a normal one on your cpu

There's no doubt that a normal pelt would cool better, but that would require (1) a separate power supply, and (2) water proofing. I'd rather do without those hassles. I suppose if the ice probe doesn't work for cpu cooling I could convert it into a water cooler. :)
