Well Intel really can't sue Via for P4X266 Chipset.. the reaosn being that when VIa bought S3, they bought the intel licenses that S3 owned. so that means Via can make Intel chipsets as long as they have an integrated S3 video. and on the P4X266 mobo they have S3 video on-board but its not enabled. thats how they can continue to manufacturer. i think intel is just mad because Via beat them to a solution for P4 DDr mobos..

it may be a loophole but it also may be the leverage that Via will need to resolve this litigation. i know that Via doing the P4X266 chipsets is a low blow to *ntel but by law they do have the *ntel licenses to do it.

i think this is a good topic to discuss. because whatever the outcome may be of this lawsuit it will have an impact on the PC industry. no matter if *ntel wins or Via wins. it will have an impact

i definitely agree AMD should hurry up and get out their newer cores.. thats why im waiting on upgradnig my pr0c. granted *ntel beat AMD to the 2ghz mark but AMD beat *ntel twice to the 1ghz mark with the T-bird and Duron. and both the T-bird and Duron out perform the P3 and P4 in most apps and benchmarks. i love my AMD pr0c. i cant believe i waited as long as i did to build an AMD system but now that i have one im quite happy with it..not to mention my duron 700 out-performs my friend's P3 733. our setups are exactly the same except mobo and proc.

you know my brother bought one of the 1ghz Durons and has it running at 10.5x133=1400..his temps idle are 32C and full load 42C. it performs really well..i would get one but seeing as this Duron is my first proc i want to get a t-bird or pally..

Intel is wasting money by placing newer processors out so fast. They are getting desperate though - desperate measures for desperate times. 2ghz, so what, what about that 3.5 ghz Northwood that was exhibited at the intel conference/show whatever. The technology for 5ghz processors is probably out there.
Doesnt Intel have an agreement with Rambus, stating they are not allowed to use other ram except rambus til the beginning of next year?
