Yeah, Carolyn is pretty cute with her site. She got a lot of site hits back in February, during the 'Great Seti Outage'. I guess you could say that she is the official 'Seti Dr.'

I am unquestionably addicted. In fact this evening I will be building yet another box which will be hidden from the fiance in the attic :D This covert operation will take place once she falls asleep.

Now that's a sure sign of addiction. :)

You better believe I'm addicted! After 400 WUs, who WOULDN'T be addicted! I'm just thinking of all that untapped power in the many computers at school..... :drools:

Man this damn piece of Antec crap case I bought at best buy for $56 is making me really angry. Guess I should have figured. Well almost ready to fire up - get to see how this cheapo thermaltake vulcano 6 cu+ works - got it for $12 at newegg. Pretty hefty, but the copper plug has the worst finish I've seen. Probably won't be realizing the full potential of this AYHJA 1.4. The attic will be a nice toruture test too. Gets up to 100 during the day. May have to underclock rather than overclock, but what the heck it's one more cruncher.

My name is Daman, and I'm a SETIholic...

I'm gonna have another couple of rigs up after the weekend...gotta go home to pick up the stuff that I ordered (changed the billing address when I ordered, but didn't realize that I had to change the shipping address, too)

One Duron 600@~950 (might be less as I'm downgrading it's cooling...but maybe not. Haven't completely decided on that yet)

One PII 400 @ 412 (just had to OC it a bit...won't do squat above that)

TC....every time I see a post from you i just look at your equipment in your sig and drool

We've been using the same Epox and Asus boards at work for our AMD and Intel systems respectively and they both seem to be great boards....and we dont even overclock them. Well I do have the system on my desk OC'ed on the Epox ...duron 900@1.2 with retail HSF and radio shack thermal paste

Can you afford to eat? Or does every last buck go to computer parts :-)

I'm sure that what doesn't go to computer parts goes to electricity. :)

Yeah I eat the grass out back with a little italian dressing :D Actually I've had a LOT of hobbies and interests in my life, and I have tired of or simply don't have the time for now. Consequently I have been selling a lot of other stuff to finance my latest hobby - Seti. I've sold several thousand $'s worth of guitars, telescopes, laser equipment, hifi audio stuff, etc. These things were collecting dust, so I converted these things into crunchers :) I think I've about topped out though. When you have computers in the basement, attic, and office it's time to call it quits - at home at least.

I'm Toomnymods(Chris Jensen) and I'd have to admit I'm undoubetedly a SETIaholic.. I just dream of the new dual systems that are to come in the next few months and To get max production out of 4 crunchers (All I currently have room for in my small Barracks room) might end up ditching the Epox 8k7a's to go full palamino/abit dual cpu boards (don't remember the model name) I would think a overclocked dual system would atleast do 10-12 wu's daily.. My single palamino systems now are doing 7 each per day so I'd say that 10-12 is kinda conservative... :D :p and with 4 of those I'd be up there with chawken and TC.. Only thing is I hope all my power supplys will be strong enuff to run the dual cpu boards from abit.. I have the Enermax 431 watt power supplys(newest revision 2.2amps on 5vsb, 44amps 5v rail) in all my systems..

Keeping them machines a hummin and keep those WU's a crunchin. Crunch On!!!!

The obsession continues. Must get more computers! MUST!

Right after I can afford more than this "food" as the dorm people like to call it. :)

Unfortunately, I have to take a break on adding machines. :(

But... sometime before the end of the year, I will be replacing my out dated network servers at work (none running Seti right now) with 5 - 8 Dual AMD servers. :)

Watch out Lamb Chops, you're heading for the Bar-B-Q. (yeah right - that would be somewhere around the 22nd century)

Hi, my names Cyklopz and I'm just a regular guy. I do have 9 systems at home but all I can think about is that I have room on my first kvm for one more system...is that wrong? Of course when I'm dreaming I start to think about upgrading all of my single cpu machines to some kind of duallies. >;-) After that I wouldn't need much except to upgrade all of my current duallies to faster duallies or even some QUADS! That's all I would need...course there are those 6x6s I've heard rumors about. I think that scummie guy on the street corning was lying when he said there were 8way systems at Area51. Anyway, I don't have a problem...I can quite any time I want.

$6400.00 for the 8way with the ABIT VP-6. I haven't used the VP-6 board - how well does it O/C?

Maybe I'm missing something here, but how do they propose to offer 4 way or even 8 way SMP when they're using separate mobos? Plus Win2k pro only supports 2 cpu's, and server only supports 4, they would have to bundle advanced server to get 8 way support I believe, or possibly datacenter - can't remember.

Actually it is 4 workstations in one box. It has a KVM, and a hub installed. It really is 4 Dualies, but just stuck in one box. It would a great little space saving gimmick for a cad/cam house. I know it would work great in our engineering department. I guess a major con on it, would be if you had to do maintenance. Could have to shut down 4 workstations just to service one.

I've never seen one...just something I found that I thought would be of interest. From all I've heard the VP6 is a good OC board...never seen any bad reviews on it.

Not sure how well it handles FSB's above 133 though

I see now. Somehow I got the idea they were claiming it's a 4 or 8 way SMP system.

The VP6 I have has been great. I guess it doesn't stand out from the crowd particularly, but absolutely no problems with it, and it overclocks as well as any other dual pentium board I've worked with. It's been running for about 4 months 24/7 - no need to attend to it.
