What will happen if I try to change my multiplier and cpu is locked? will it just not boot up? will it hurt anything? Our 1.4ghz 266 ahyja Y usually locked?I do not want to take my sk6 off again because I must have put it on perfect becuase im getting really good tems 37c 98f. I used to get 114 F
well, if the L1's are not unlocked and you push the multiplier up your system is likely not going to boot.
Will you damage anything? No.
But you'll probably need to reset your bios to get up and running again.

Reset bios? That mean I have to re-go in bios and change to bios reset to default?
Most of the time if the computer won't boot because the user has increased the multiplier too high, you need to unplug the machine and then reset the bios.
Resetting the bios is done by locating the reset jumper on the motherboard and switching it to clear mode for about 30 seconds and then replacing the jumper in the original position.
