So should i be using the XP drivers with win2000 or the NT drivers?

I got an extra 150 points over my last best score, but that was in 98 so i dont really know, there better though. Need to do some realworld testing.

21.81 Drivers boosted my 3dMk2001 score by over 100 points!
Didn't expect that I would get that much of a bump, so I am totally jazzed. Thanks Nvidia...

UPDATE: Also having some instability with XP drivers...3D2001 score was 2818 first shot, and has dwindled to 2770 now...still a little bit of a bump...we'll see, won't we???

UPDATE 2: Now having lots of instability problems with my rig...unfortunate that I did the 12.81's and IE 6.0 at same time...getting crashes in game and lock ups...lots of crashes back to desktop while online...about to give up on these things...and my 3DMk2001 score has dwindled by 50 points...Whathe****, OVER???

My 3DMark 2001 only went up 10 points but I need to retest. But I am seeing a solid 10% increase in Q3 performance at 1280x1024 (92.0 to 101.3 fps) and 1600x1200 (64.2 to 71.0 fps) with 32 bit color and all visuals set to max. Its a lesser % increase at lower resolutions.

For the last day my computer kept freezing up randomly and i was going beserk tryingt to fix my it, and worried that my ram or something was no good, until I realized I updated to these new drivers yesterday. Sure enough unistalled these and installed the older 12.4(something like that) drivers and everthing was fine. These drivers also lowered my 3dmark2001 by about 50points, which is just under 1000 points with my crappy tnt2 m64. I'm also running a fic AZ11 mobo with windows ME. I want an radeon badly now.

Ive had problem with the drivers too. performance seems the same but textures are all screwy again in FF8 (just like the original GF256 problem, but setting texture initial location dont fix it) so im back with the 12.90's

I got a 200 points increase with the 21.81 compared to my 12.41. The new drivers also let me O/C my MX from 175C/166M to 200C/200M after that it was another 500 point increase. I HAVE GONE BACK TO THE 12.41. The new drivers gave me tears & artifacts even at normal clockspeed for my MX. If someone knows how to fix this pls share the info.

I love the detonator 4 drivers.. i went from 2748 points in 3dmark2001 to 3200 points. my Q3 FPS also went up from 65 to 82...and thats not bad considering the system i have.

After trying the 20.81's for awhile, I went back to the 12.90, then up to the 14.40. I think they work out great!

Tried these new drivers, but there was no change at all in 3DMark2001. So I'm back to the 12.90's, they're very stable. Seems strange the score would be identical with my 12.90's.

Yeah, that does seem odd...there should have been some kind of difference...Got mine working again and now I'm right up there where I initially was with the 21.81's...3dMk2001 @2818...this makes me happy and yet sad I didn't go for the GTS or Ultra...

:D :( :D :( :D

I went back with the 20.81's. I had some problems with the other ones. With the 20.81's, I know I get a 200 pt. boost, so I can live with that.

Well, I reinstalled the 21.81's and, again, there is no change from the 12.90's on my system in 3DMark2001 600X800 16 bit. ???

I went from 6415 3D2001 marks with the 12.90s to 7173 with the new 21.81s.

Worked wonders as far as I'm concerned.

What is your system set up?:)

Thanks Jon. It seems the new drivers will have the greatest performance increase with the Geforce 3's.
Time for a new card??? Maybe I'll try the ti500... in a few months;)

Jon

They were made more with the GF3 in mind.

nVidia always keeps a few cards up their sleeves to deal with ATI. The 8500 was about to come out and they drop the 21.81 driver on us which greatly unlocks some more power of the GF3.

My overclocked Geforce2 Ultra got a 10% improvement in Q3 at 1280x1024 and higher with 32 bit color. To me this suggests the main improvement to the GF2 is improved memory bandwidth which Nvidia cards can never have enough of.

i a want to know how all of you get such hih 3dmark 2001 scores my system only gets 2400 and i think i should bet getting at least 3000, i do the tests at 1024x768, 32bit, no A/A, ive overclocked my card and my cpu the card to 225/360, and my cpu to 892 105*8.5, the only thing i can think of is the drivers. i just updated my via drivers, but i am still using 12.41, so do you think if i upgrade the drivers i could get it to about 3000. thanks in advance guys.
