kaspersky registry key damaged

kaspersky registry key damaged????????

ok out of nowhere my computer asked me for a key for kaspersky 5.0.142. so i went to add the one i have which works on every other computer in my house and it tells me that it cannot be used because it is damaged. now i noticed that it isnt recogizing the key as a regisry file like the other computers do. how can i make it do that again. i tried a new key butthat didnt work. now i have gotten it to be set as opening with registry editor but it still tells me that it is damaged. i am out of ideas

bump i really need this could it possibly be an error on my windows cd. i formatted my hard drive which was new and it ran for a couple weeks fine then messed up and still doesnt work even on fresh windows install
