Well, I've two Raptor that I use raid with my Abit Max3, and now I have a new mobo, Asus P4c800e. Just want to know if it's possible to use the two hd and raid them without losing any of my previous data. All I'm getting is, all your data will lose if I set raid on this mobo.

Welcome to the Forums!

Unless the two boards use identical controllers, you will most likely lose the data. Even if they do, there is still a chance of data loss. The best thing to do is back up or burn the data before trying the swap.

Darnit. Guess, I'll consider the format then. My Max3 broke, and I'm not planning on buying another one just for backup. Most of the things on the HD are mp3s and games.

Also, is it possible to boot into window, with one drive?

Yes it is, but it wont be in RAID at all. It will just show up as 2 Drive's

Forgot to make things clear. Is it possible to just boot in one drive, so I can recover my data.

not unless you unplug the other drive

Well, thanks for everyone help. I don't know why, but my raid still works in this new mobo. Using the intel raid. Now, I'm just backing up this, and format a fresh one. Just to make sure.

Weird that the raid still works in this new mobo.

If both boards are using the ICH5R chipset, that will be why they work. Many times swaps between the same chipset controllers will work, but it's always best to insure against the unexpected.
