Anyone else find this a huge pet peeve when someone says their system being a 2.4 northwood or something along those lines is obsolete? I do, it's irritating as hell because it's far from the truth. My commodore 64 comps, and my original tandy's, THOSE are obsolete. My pent celeron 233mhz's, are not obsolete, you know why? They run today's software, albeit slow, but they still run it.

sorry for the rant, I just hate it when someone with a 3 month old system says OMFG ITS OBSOLETE

i agree i still have my 433 mhz celeron and does day to day stuff perfectly and will still play ALL of the newer games that comes out for kids...you know the generic 10 dollar ones from wal-mart. my son is perfectly cool with it. still plays UT 2 too. :D

I could not agree more, I use a 333mhz pentium 2 for all my day to day college stuff... I will admit it is because the power supply on my main rig is toasty, but it gets the job done

I welcome the use of the word obsolete. People that use that word are simply expecting something better. They're the type of people that end up creating something better, faster, more efficient.

I agree 100% as well.

Obsolete means no longer in use according to a dictonary.

A nice thing about people who believe ther stuff is obsolete is that they often feel that it isn't worth very much money?

I was more than pleased to buy a used 2.4 p4 for one of my boxes

Exactly my thought. Some of the best deals that I've scored are from people who are unsatisified because they don't have the latest, greatest technology.
