Some of you have been following my Car PC Project, and I figured I'd give a big update.
I got the computer going (I'm using it to type this right now), Here's the specs:
Epox 8kta+ (Has 5 bloated caps, that will be fixed later, it still 100% stable)
Amd Duron 800 (The 850 I have has heat damage, and it artifacts, the 1100 that I have no idea where it came from wont even allow the computer to turn on. And the XP 2100+ I was originally going to use is going to try to be RMA'd, I dont have the receipt but its under 3 years old. If only I could find the original fan for it we'd be good to go :()
512mb SDRam (This stick of ram will NOT work if any other sticks are in for some reason)
Audigy 2 ZS Platinum (with the 5.25 bay)
ATI Rage IIC
Maxtor 120GB Hard Drive w/ XP pro SP2
Generic 250W PSU
Asus 50X Cdrom

What I will be getting eventually for this computer will be a cheap (but decent) agp card, this board only supports 2x, so I'm not looking for something too spectacular. Just something to run winamp vis at a decent frame rate.
I may upgrade the PSU, even though 250W is more than sufficient for this.
I want to get my friend old 8 or 16x dvdrom hes not using.
And hopefully my athlon 2100 can be rma'd.

I built a hard drive cooler/shock protection case. It's pretty ghetto looking but its really functional and the cooling is amazing. I ran a surface test on the HDD in the foam casing for 8 minutes and the hard drive got up to 45C (which is still somewhat acceptable, it wont be under that much stress anyways) but remember this is still in a controlled environment, not my trunk. So I plug the fan in while its still scanning, and it drops to 28C within a minute. The test is still running and its hit 25C after a couple mins. I havent stopped it because I cant, I'll just let it run. I'm sure <20C isnt too far off.

Does anyone know the specs of the rage IIC for gpu and mem speeds? Just curious.

Also, I will be buying this amp (http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&dept=10&WLBS=fsweb23&sku_id=0665000FS10041999&catid=10551&newdeptid=10) more than likely. Because it can run at 4ohm impedance, so when I actually get good speakers in my car (I have the stock "premium" ones right now) I can support it better.
I am going to buy a 300-350W UPS to run off the inverter
And ofcourse an LCD Screen. Probably from NCIX, they have some BenQ 15" lcds for under 300 canadian. Which is a damn good deal if you ask me.
After that all I need is speaker wire. Probably 10 or 12 gauge.

Any questions regarding the project?

Ok, so the hard drive runs at 26C idling after the scan was finished and I restarted. I think its a little higher because I tightened down the hard drive box. I took pics of it, and I'll upload them in a couple mins. I'm still using the car PC right now.

Pics of the build (http://fyredaug.wc3campaigns.com/carpc/) that was a dummy hard drive, I have a different one now
