just wondering if neone else has had the chance to run seti in XP besides me. I'm noticing a problem with the paging file. A few of my friends say that their computers are locking up and rebooting becuase of a paging file error. mine happens about 15 mins after i start seti. I've tried moving the seti dir to another drive, deleting the page file, moving the page file. nothing is werking, this is really killin my stats so someone plz help.

I ran setidriver and the clc on my brother dual PIII running xp and had no problems. I was not running spy if you are try just running driver and the clc.

I don't use driver, just spy and the clc, so i thought, hey maybe it's spy. so i ran the client by itself. same same. i'm at loss on what i could be. could it be my hds, their old old hard drives, maybe i should just upgrade those. Fujitsu 2gb and a WD 13gb

None whatsoever here - XP box has not been rebooted for over a month - crunching 24/7.

Beta 2 on one machine and RC1 on a second machine. Had no trouble with either one yet.

yeah i'm thinking this intial release of xp really isn't ready for me, i may just have to back to rc2 since i can't crunch with this machine, really killin my stats in the meantime. :( kinda waiting for an update to appear after sending in about 30 minidump files to MS. just gotta wait and see.

Well I'm thinkin XP ain't for me at all. I haven't had any problems with it, but I see no compelling reason to upgrade. In fact some down sides are having to tweak the crap out of it, and get rid of all the fancy icons and effects so the performance doesn't suffer. It looks like win2000 with some new bells and whistles. Yeah there are a few good things - mostly more compatibility with a wider range of hardware, but everything else looks cosmetic. To me the "classic" windows settings are cleaner and easier to use, but Bill didn't ask me.
