I have run 3D mark2001SE and get a score of 1852.
Seems pretty low on my high end system
Although i think that my super-low-end videocard pulls down the performance of my entire system.
What could it be or is this score normal?
AMD Athlon 64 3400+ + standard amd cooler (boxed version)
Corsair 512MB XMS c2
MSI K8N Neo Platinum
AOpen Aeolus MX4000-V64, 64 MB (agp8x)
Maxtor 80 GB Sata
Enermaxx Noisetaker 370 watts.
ps: Bios has all default settings, so no overclocking.
I run Windows Xp Pro + sp1
Direct X 9.0c
And the newest Nvidia Forceware drivers 66.93

Yep, considering that you are using a S754 and a really really bad videocard, you are indeed correct. That card is bringing the whole system down with it. :(

Can i still push out a little more performance out of this system??
any hints on that?
What are the best drivers for my videocard to get best perfomance etc?
maybe new bios?
any help would be appreciated.
:burn:
ps: this videocard is luckily a temporary solution, saving some money for the cream of the crop :)
Yeah dude.
You have a kick ass PC, and a rubbish video card. Hehe.
Want better performance? Buy a new one lol. That card is aweful, sorry to say. ;)

I don't wan't to make you feel any worse but that score I think is lower than it should be considering I beat it with my old Geforce2 Ultra and P3 800@992 by more than 1500 points.

There isnt really much you can do to get more out of your system. I think most people would recommend a new graphics card. :)

yeh your card is hurtin yur system a lot. im curious as to why ur score is that low though, my old pos with a celeron and a stock vga gets about 3K. im runin a radeon 9500 and im gettin about 12k on my athlon 2400.

that score is low even for a geforce2 mx you got there. I hit just over 3k with my mx400 and thats not even considered great, ive seen people pull 4k on slower systems. with such a slow card, 3dmark 2001 behaives like 2003. If you dont game at ALL than keep your card, its fine for 2d. If you wanna game some, get a ti4200. you should get near 20k with one of those like I do. If you reeeeeeeeeally wanna game hardcore, look for something like a 9700pro, I got one(softmodded) and im gonna try to aim for 23k marks

those are pretty high numbers ocer550, i had a rough time pulling 20k on 01 with my 9800xt.. had to have my p4 running at 3.86ghz and my vid card oced pretty high...as for the original post, the scores do seem rather low, a hercules 3dprophet 4500(175/175 and about a 2000+) ran like 2300 and my friend's 650pIII and a geforce 4 mx420(which isn't much faster than a geforce 2 mx) ran like 2k or something.... I'd recommend a new vid card though, maybe a x700 pro or x800 something or other...at least a 9800pro, but the 9800 isn't much less than an x700...good luck with it

technically I already beat him, I have a 21.6k but I dont mention it since ill be getting much higher with tccd anyway, should be easily 22.5k :D as for your 20k, its much harder with a p4 or barton than a64, especially a winchester.
